Due to restructuring, the global financial services firm, Manulife, needed to decommission many of its servers across multiple locations in Hong Kong within a short time period.
Without affecting its internal operations, the decommissioning required careful planning & coordination across multiple operating divisions & data centre locations.
Over 20 racks of servers were decommissioned.
Within a three month period: deinstalled all devices, coordinated & executed chain of custody procedures to ensure devices were degaussed and disposed of, in accordance with regulations and in the most ecofriendly manner possible.
All subsystems’ private data was eradicated and Certificates of Data Eradication were secured for audit purposes. The project was completed within the short time frame, with a fully auditable chain of custody.
