A MidWest based conglomerate needed to consolidate two sites into one, freeing up valuable lease space. They had a bad experience with movers in the past who had damaged valuable IT equipment. The company needed professional IT movers for this consolidation.
This was a large IT environment comprised of an IBM mainframe, a small IBM tape library, and a 7cabinet EMC VMAX and VCE VBlock configuration. To reduce the risk of the move, the customer also required the use of two transport channels.
The MultiTek PM worked closely with the Customer and they were very engaged in the process allowing for good planning and communication throughout. On move night there was an added challenge due to the building and downtown locations not supporting the longhaul 53foot transport trucks. A local agent was engaged to provide citytruck transports and crews to pack everything at origin, then transfer to the longhaul transports at their warehouse.
All equipment and cabinets were moved safely and successfully to the consolidated site. The first transport arrived, was unloaded and released, then the second transport arrived
